I clung to the locket tight
As I made my way to the lake
This was the last thing I had of her
The only thing to hold dear
As I sat on a rock and ponder
Why do I need her so?
She came and spoke to me
Drop the locket she said
You don’t need it anymore
For all the memories in your heart
Will keep you safe and warm
A locket would do nothing for you
So drop it my dear angel
For Ill always be here
Right in your heart
No locket is needed
So as I walked back up to the cabin
I kept wondering if I should let it go
So then my fingers loosened
And I dropped the locket in the thick mud of the ocean
